Hello & Welcome

Thank you for selecting me to capture such a time in your life! I am honoured to be able to artistically commemorate your journey as a couple.

This guide is designed to help you prepare for your photoshoot, ensuring that the experience is enjoyable, stress-free, and results in beautiful images that you'll cherish for years to come.

How to prepare mentally and physically

It’s essential to arrive at your session feeling relaxed and prepared to unleash your creativity. I suggest turning it into a special outing. Begin with a coffee or a walk to truly connect with your partner. After that, we’ll come together and create something magical.

This time is all about embracing the love you share with your partner. Let go of any previous expectations regarding how your photos should appear. Avoid stressing over achieving the "perfect pose" (because that isn’t even a thing). Instead, focus on being present in the moment with your partner.

This isn’t just a photo session, it’s a story we’re creating together.

Think of this like stepping into a scene from a film. There’s a story, a vibe, and a feeling behind every frame.

My role is to guide you into that space, not by forcing poses, but by helping you move and exist naturally within it.

You don’t need to know how to pose. You don’t need to perform. You just need to show up as you are.

Your role in the story

Before your session, take a moment to think about what you want your photos to feel like:

  • Soft and intimate
  • Playful and light
  • Quiet and moody
  • Bold and expressive

If you’re coming with a partner or loved one, focus on your connection, not the camera. I’ll guide you with prompts and movement so nothing feels stiff or forced.

There will be moments where I step in and direct, and others where I let things unfold naturally. The in-between moments are often the ones that matter most.

The most powerful images come from emotion, not perfection.

Telling your love story

think of it as an experience rather than a photoshoot
People walking between tall library bookshelves with fluorescent lighting overhead in a quiet study environment.

Let’s let go of the idea that photos have to look a certain way (like you and your partner standing perfectly still in a wheat field, both dressed in white). While that might be your vibe (and that’s beautiful!), it’s not for everyone. Instead, let’s focus on you , your connection, your energy, and what truly feels like your love story.

Some ideas to inspire you:

  • Lattes at your favorite coffee shop
  • Pancakes and records in your living room
  • A picnic in a field or park
  • Exploring a misty forest trail
  • Jumping into a lake at golden hour
  • Ice cream and wandering through downtown
  • Roller skating at a vintage roller rink
  • Stargazing under a blanket
  • Cooking dinner and dancing in the kitchen, mess and all

What should we wear??

Your outfits play a significant role in the overall look and feel of your photos. Consider the location and theme of your shoot when selecting your attire.  Remember, comfort is key, you'll want to feel confident and relaxed in what you're wearing.

What you wear helps shape the entire visual story.

Instead of thinking in “matching outfits,” think in mood, texture, and tone.

Guidelines:

  • Choose pieces that feel like they belong in the same world
  • Focus on texture (linen, cotton, knits, denim, leather)
  • Avoid logos, busy patterns, or anything distracting
  • Flowy fabrics, layers, and movement-friendly pieces photograph beautifully and add depth to your images.

If you’re unsure, I’m always happy to help you decide.

Creative Direction

your session isn't just about "taking photos". It's about telling your love story in a way that is beautiful and true to you

Before your session, I’ll send over a curated moodboard to guide the overall vision.

This may include:

  • Color palettes
  • Outfit inspiration
  • Posing and movement references

You’re welcome to send inspiration as well! I want this to be a collaborative process. Together, we’ll refine everything into a cohesive concept that feels true to you!

During the Session

Expect a relaxed, immersive experience.

There’s no rush, no pressure to be perfect. I’ll guide you through gentle prompts and natural movements. You’re not posing,  you’re interacting, moving freely, and focusing on connecting with your partner

You might hear music playing. You might be asked to repeat a small moment a few times. You might forget the camera is even there.

That’s exactly where the magic happens.

Posing Comfort

Be fully present in the moment

I’m not here for stiff poses or forced smiles. My goal is to capture the real, unfiltered emotions between you and your partner, the kind of love that feels like a scene straight out of a movie. I’ll gently guide you through natural movements and prompts, but I’ll always give you the space to simply be together. That’s where the magic happens, where your connection, laughter, and love truly come alive.

When you book with me, we’ll be running, dancing, twirling, just genuinely having fun together! I’m here to capture you, exactly as you are. I know being in front of the lens can feel a little awkward at first, but it doesn’t have to. My goal is to make you feel comfortable, confident, and completely in the moment, so that these photos become memories you’ll treasure for years to come.
